Marco Borioli, the president of the MarediModa Creative Excellence Award jury, was full of praise for the Belgian lingerie company: “Thanks to their various brands, Van de Velde is a leading lingerie house. Every brand is devoted to a different type of woman and is distinguished by the company’s craftsmanship, sense of style, eye for detail and the high quality of the materials used.”
For Van de Velde this award is recognition of the craftsmanship behind Marie Jo’s new refined swimwear collection of bikinis and swimsuits. Ever since the brand was launched in 1981, Van de Velde has worked to inspire women and strengthen their self-image with Marie Jo.
With the Marie Jo swimwear collection, which has just arrived in stores, Van de Velde pays tribute to strong, timeless style icons like Romy Schneider, Catherine Deneuve and Grace Kelly. The intelligently designed collection is made for every type of woman, with various ingenious fits: with or without underwires, with or without lining, strapless or halter-neck. Marie Jo swimwear exudes opulence, with a well-considered combination of flattering styles, luxurious materials and refined details.
Van de Velde CEO Erwin van Laethem says: “I am enormously proud that we are able to take this award home with us. This is recognition of our passion and the icing on the cake after Marie Jo was named Fashion Brand of the Year. Marie Jo is increasingly convincing women worldwide with a unique combination of subtle designs and a perfect fit.
“I would like to give a big thanks to all Marie Jo fans for their support and I dedicate this award to them. We are grateful to be able to empower women every day around the world with our lingerie and swimwear.”
