Marie Jo, Belgian Fashion Brand of the Year, thanks fans with 2000 flowers

Belgian lingerie company Van de Velde won the first ever Belgian Fashion Awards with lingerie brand Marie Jo. Thanks to the support shown by the international public, for the next twelve months Marie Jo is the ‘Fashion Brand of the Year’. The lingerie label beat 23 other premium Belgian brands to become Belgium’s favourite fashion brand.

Marie Jo launched an original campaign to say a big THANK YOU to all the loyal fans and customers who voted for them. The campaign got underway last weekend with a fine example of “female empowerment” in Antwerp: a heroic bride in Marie Jo lingerie distributed almost 2000 flowers with thank you cards from the air. Last weekend Marie Jo women were shown even more love and gratitude: in every Belgian Marie Jo point of sale they were treated to Belgian chocolate and the chance to win a year’s supply of Marie Jo lingerie. One lucky lady went home with a ‘Golden Ticket’.

The gratitude and euphoria after winning the Belgian Fashion Award is great at Van de Velde. And there’s a clear sense that success should always be celebrated. “Because you don’t win an award like this on your own. You don’t get anywhere without the support and the votes of your fans, customers and employees,” says CEO Erwin Van Laethem. The Van de Velde employees were treated to cake the day after the award show.

Ever since the brand was launched in 1981, Van de Velde has worked to inspire women and empower with seductive, refined Belgian lingerie.
